Macs with Blu-ray support to be announced at Macworld Expo?
While being a long-time member of the Blu-ray Disc Association, Steve Jobs-led Apple Inc. still has yet to reveal its true leaning at the on-gong format war between Blu-ray and HD DVD.
Analysts, however, have a good reason to believe that everything will become known come Macworld Expo 2008.
More details after the jump!
According to Wall Street analyst Shaw Wu, Apple Inc. might finally publicly show its support for Blu-ray for this year’s Macworld Expo by unveiling computers and notebooks compatible with the said format.
For those of you not quite familiar with Apple’s true leanings, the company has been a member of the Blu-ray Disc Association or BDA since 2005. Its CEO Steve Jobs, furthermore, is a director of Disney which also support the format.
Quite interestingly, however, Apple just remained in the sidelines, content with watching the on-going format war. This is the same reason why Wu added that it is also possible for Apple to roll out computers compatible with both Blu-ray and the HD DVD.
Macworld Expo 2008 is scheduled to take place on January 15 in San Francisco, California. We expect to see strong and firm confirmations by then regarding the matter.
