Madden 09 - Image 1Madden NFL Football (Nintendo DS, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360) is perfect for those who are sports fanatics of the game and it is a pride of Electronic Arts (EA) because of its number of sales. See why the long-running franchise is the success that it is today after the jump.

Madden 09 - Image 1Madden NFL Football (Nintendo DS, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360) is the number one selling sports game of Electronic Arts (EA) and John Madden, the top color commentator in sports, has risen to fame even more now.  Madden ’09 garnered 3.5 million, which is an increase of 6% from the sales of the 2008 version.

Apart from those numbers, Madden also enjoys a healthy number of fans playing via Microsoft’s online service, Xbox Live. Given the vast number of users (14 million as of the last Tokyo Game Show), it is no doubt that this helps boost the franchise’s popularity.

For example, Madden 08‘s downloadable feature, “Fantasy Football Phenomenon” has reached 11.7 million people as of last September. Here, gamers can hold their fantasy drafts on their console, and then later on also import their games to the 09 title.

The game even extended to cellphone users, which is one of the top ten games downloaded.  Most of the downloaders are between 45 and 64 years old so we guess its not just the kids who love to play video games but also those wanting to be kids again.

Enhancement with the graphics every year is done wherein the images are more real, which rivals the real thing, even having its NFL broadcasts, replays and commentators criticizing players and their game play.  And unlike in real life where most are just viewers, the game features players as the team owners, the general managers, the coaches and the athletes.  Your dream becomes reality with this game.

EA Sports partnered with the National Football League (NFL) and the ESPN Network thus the video games help the programs’ ratings on the telly. More televiewers also watch the reality show, Madden Nation, which is a survivor type of show on TV.
