Magic: the Gathering to grace PC, Mac, Xbox Live Arcade soon - Image 1Trading card game Magic: The Gathering was first introduced back in 1993. Gamers of today tried porting it to their video game consoles by way of homebrew but there will be no need for that now as official games for the TCG have just been announced.

Strategy hobby collectible trading card provider Wizards of the Coast (WotC) is sending out word that it has partnered itself with studios Stainless Games, Ltd. and Mind Control Software, Inc. to bring Magic: The Gathering to PC, Mac, and Xbox Live Arcade.

Stainless Games will be the one responsible for the game’s XBLA version while Mind Control will be taking care of the Mac build. The two furthermore, will collaborate on the Games for Windows version of the game.

Wizards of the Coast Brand Director for Magic: The Gathering Jared Gustafson had this to say about the projects:

WeÂ’re excited to bring the Magic brand to new platforms and give our fans new ways to experience this great property. ItÂ’s partnerships like these that will advance the strategy games category and transform it to meet the needs and desires of todayÂ’s digital gamers.

Currently, the official names of the Magic: The Gathering video game titles have yet to be revealed as well as their release dates. WotC has promised, however, that more will be revealed soon.
