Mahjong v0.99 now up for grabs!
There’s lots of mahjong games out there. And here’s actually a very good homebrew, despite the author calling it an almost-final version. If this version is Mahjong v0.99, then we’re wondering how Gwennael Buchet plans to improve the homebrew even better. Because as it is, it’s great. And to think, it was done in just two days… Good stuff!
The background music is appropriate, and there’s pretty much nothing to complain about with regards to the graphics. For those who are not familiar with the game mechanics of mahjong, it’s simple: you eliminate all the tiles in the grid by pairs.
You don’t need to learn how to read Chinese characters for this game, because it’s all about matching tiles that look alike. It takes a while to recognize some distinctions between the tiles, but soon enough, you’d get the hang of it. Besides, if you get stuck, this homebrew has a feature where you can press X for help, and two “eliminate-able” tiles will highlight – nifty feature when you’re in a jam.
