Majesco rep clarifies Wii online statement
A few days ago, a Majesco Entertainment representative was asked about the Wii’s online information. He answered by saying that Nintendo is still keeping their online system a secret to developers and that they are not letting game makers know how to make a Wii game compatible with the online service.
Apparently, some people misunderstood this and now the rep in question, Pete Rosky, is clarifying his statement.
In case you forgot, Majesco is the publisher of the Wii game, Cooking Mama: Cook Off. The game will be featuring a multiplayer mode, but not through the online service. Pete Rosky, marketing coordinator for Majesco has clarified his statement, this is what he has to say:
As the representative from Majesco, who is being cited in the aforementioned story, I would like to set the record straight about the Wii online issue. I, in no way, have any negative feelings towards Nintendo. It was interpreted that I was upset with the lack of online on the Wii, which is just not what I meant at all.
I responded to the online question honestly, stating “Nintendo as of now does not have any online titles, this title being one that is not online”. This statement was further discussed and I stated that the ability to go online was not available at the time Cooking Mama Cook Off was being developed. For all I know, this could have changed by now, but that is a question to ask Nintendo. Again, I am in no way upset with or speaking out against Nintendo
Now that that issue is settled, hopefully they could add some fun online features to their games. Anyhow, we’ll keep you posted for further developments about Majesco published games.
