Majesco’s bringing Cooking Mama over to the US

I'm so hungry, I could eat a Wii!Just as they did with the DS Cooking Mama, Majesco Entertainment is gladly spreading the culinary (gaming) wealth from the East to the West by bringing the Wii Cooking Mama: Cooking with International Friends over to American kitchens. Along the way, it got a slight subtitle change. Wii We now call it Cooking Mama: Cook-Off.

Definitely sounds like you’re going up against the Iron Chefs don’t it?

And along the way, Majesco reveals details about the game that are, thankfully, in English. The culinary arts may know no language barriers, but press releases still do, and at least this one’s something we don’t need to translate.

  • Expect to slice, dice, and julienne more than 300 real world recipes from ten real-world nations!
    • (Recipies from the famous cookbook “To Serve Man” and for Soylent Green are not included).
  • Observe realistic graphics and real-time cooking effects to judge when the meat’s done just right…
    • … or whether you overcooked it, you kooky goof.
  • Best of all, the game offers 2-player kitchen cookoffs to determine who can cook the best meal the fastest. (We don’t know if it’s online or not, though).
    • Ah, Chairman-san, you must try my raw squid dipped in ice cream and coated in a garlic-soy sauce mixture.

Still going to be out early next year, just like what Taito told hungry Japanese customers. You gotta tighten your belts until then.
