Major Nelson’s response to wireless headset issues
You have been heard. See? Didn’t we tell you before: just as long as you make yourself heard, you will be. As more and more people are complaining and recounting their technical issues with the wireless 360 headsets, Microsoft finally has something to say about it. Well, at least Major Nelson has a statement. And when you think about it, that’s just about as official a statement as we ask for.
The Major just recently got to talk to the accessories team about the feedback from various consumers who’ve been getting wireless headset glitches. As previously mentioned in Max’s article, some of these problems include difficulty in syncing the headset to the console, constant reception interference, and low audio quality/sensitivity. Here’s Major Nelson’s response:
The team wanted to let you know they are committed to providing the highest quality accessories for Xbox 360 and they would like to assist in troubleshooting and resolving those issues, whether by replacing or repairing the units under warranty. If you are experiencing any of these issues with the Wireless Headset please call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX (or your local support line.)
Replacement? Hmm… Sorry to be the rainy cloud on the horizon, but that doesn’t really guarantee anyone that the replacing unit will work. What we want to know is what exactly is causing the glitches: if it’s a technical issue inherent in the system of 360-to-headset connection or a simple manufacturing hardware glitch that can be resolved by a new unit.
Whatever the case, at least we got support. Being the “MS hero” that he is, Major Nelson’s got our backs covered. And our advice still stands: just make yourself heard and you will be.
