Fans of the unlicensed (American) football game, Backbreaker, reported a lot of problems with the game, which is why developers at NaturalMotion have decided to answer the call. To fix “a lot of problems”, they’ll need a “major patch”.
“We’ve had to hold back on discussing this for the past couple of weeks but today I can finally tell you that we have been working on a major patch for Backbreaker,” said the developers’ community manager. “The patch will address many issues and requests raised by the Backbreaker community, so thank you for your valuable input. Further information will follow in good time, but you should be aware that this is something that we are taking seriously and will not be rushing out.”
Without the blessing of the NFL, Backbreaker was a little under the radar in its genre, especially considering the giant Madden franchise that it has to keep up with. But even with no license to use names and likenesses from the league, the game still managed to build itself a community. While the patch isn’t expected to rid the game of all its problems, it’s still worth noting that the developers are providing post-launch support.
