Marbl (demo): don’t lose your marbles

MarblHow confident are you with your coordination skills? Personally, I’m not much good in that department. We’re talking about that guy who could manage tripping himself. I’m a klutz. Period. That’s why when we got this Marbl (demo) homebrew from Heran Bago, I tried to give my hand-eye coordination another chance.

The game plays like Marble Madness, only this one’s 2D. You roll, jump, boost, and maneuver your marble across the course and try to make good time using the direction pad. Here’s the rest of the controls:

  • A = Jump
  • B = Boost
  • R = change Core
  • L = change Shell

The time counters (best time and previous time) are saved in SRAM. For a game that was done 80% in MS Paint, and 20% in Photoshop, we have to give the guy some credit. And on top of everything, the physics of this game is surprisingly good. So good, in fact, that it gets very tricky when the obstacle course gets more complicated. Coordination skills are key. It’s just that I can’t unlock it.
