Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Triple Jump gameplay video

Now that we know just how big Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games will be, thanks to the sheer number of playable sports events that add epic points to the upcoming title’s already massive combination, and two of the biggest video game franchises since the 80s joining hands make it difficult not to be excited. When Sega and Nintendo teams up to make a game for the Wii and DS, you can’t be wrong to say something special is coming. This video shows us a mere slice of the Wii version’s pie.

Among the events you’ll be competing in is the Triple Jump, where you pick a character that harness one of three styles – all-around, technical, speed, power – before battling it out against other competitors to see who can reach the farthest after jumping three times. With the use of the Wii’s motion sensing controls, as seen in the video below, it looks like hours of extreme Olympic fun are waiting.
