Mario games lead video game sales in UK
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games seems to have finally ended its long reign on top place in the UK Charts – only to be succeeded by another Mario game that’s likely to top the charts for months on end: Mario Kart Wii. Since its release in February, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has topped the charts in the UK, only being bumped off for a week or two when a major title comes out. Now it seems it has finally conceded its reign on top… for another Mario game.
Mario Kart Wii, whose launch marked the biggest opening week for any Mario game in the UK, is on top yet again, and will likely stay there for quite some time. As it is though, Mario & Sonic is still going strong, sitting on second place in the sales charts.
The only new entry this week is UEFA Euro 2008 Austria-Switzerland, which entered at 8th place. Here are the rest of the top 10 games in the UK for the week of April 19:
