Mario Kart Wii congratulatory note screenshots
One of many “achievements” on Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii? Just barely, but like the one you’re issued in Super Mario Galaxy, the Mario Kart Wii congratulatory message does make you glow with pride either way. Spencer of Siliconera blogged that his Japanese version of Mario Kart Wii awarded him one such note, and it comes personalized, too. Get a sneak peek of it in the full story.
What we’ve got here are just a few screenshots of a congratulatory message that Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii sends you when you win the Grand Prix, and it’s a lot similar to the mail Super Mario Galaxy would blow your way when you’ve helped Mario rescue his green-clad, mustached pal.
Obviously this is from the Japanese version of Mario Kart Wii, but then it’s still the same, best selling game through and through.
You could say that it’s a long shot away from a fully-fledged game achievement, but at least it persists in your Wii’s message storage to feel as close to an honor badge as those on Xbox Live. That is, until you delete ’em. Personally though, why even need one when you know that you’ve finished a game is fact and forever fact – evidence notwithstanding?
In any case, Nintendo’s offering your Mii a chance to wave to an unseen crowd while sandwiched between Princess Peach and Mario, and it’s a great souvenir to bag after swerving past persistent racers, navigating tricky turns, and avoiding goombas, turtle shells, and just about everything else out to hinder you from finishing first.
Mario Kart Wii will be released in North America on April 27, 2008. Australia gets its version, coupled with club invites, on April 24 – and that’s probably today for them already.
