Gamers from the land down under rejoice! Nintendo Australia has just announced Mario Kart Wii‘s release date for their side of the world. It’s official, Mario and friends will be speeding toward Australia’s store shelves on April 24, just a few days after the Japanese and European releases.
So what can Aussie gamers look forward to? Mario Kart Wii features five control options (Wii Wheel, sideways Wii remote, Wiimote and Nunchuk, Classic Controller, and GameCube controller), retro and new race tracks, new characters and vehicles, Wi-Fi capabilities, and the Mario Kart Channel. Players can also play as their Miis, with their own weapons and vehicles. Also new in this iteration of Mario Kart is the inclusion of motorbikes.
Anyway, mark your calendars, boys and girls. Mario Kart Wii will be zooming to Australia on April 24 so start saving up, it’ll cost you US$ 99.95.
