Mario Party 8 hitting Europe on June 22
Nintendo’s Mario Party 8 will be arriving in Europe this June 22. This innovative Wii game will be selling for £ 40 or about US$ 80. So what can we expect from this much anticipated game for the Wii?
The game has a rich number of playable characters that includes Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Blooper, and a Hammer Bro. Gameplay’s relatively simple with its billed “boardgame feel”. Each player rolls the dice and is then faced with a mini-game depending on where they land. The mini-games are varied, they range from serious various races (snowboard, tight rope, boat rowing) to seemingly meaningless tasks like, cake decoration contest. In a nod to the “customizable” trend we’ve been experiencing, Mii characters are said to be usable in certain mini-games.
The game’s main mode is called the Party Tent where up to four players try to collect as many stars as they can on a set number of turns (it’s boardgame-like remember?). For those who want to skip that and just want to get straight to the mini-games, you can access the Mini-Game Tent and do just that. There are other zones that further add to the replayability of the game including the Extras Zone and the Fun Bazaar.
So when it comes out, be sure to check it because Mario Party 8 is arguably one of the better party games to be released on the Wii. Besides, this game is the perfect excuse to go and throw a party, a Mario Party.
