Mark Rein: Cliffy B didn’t confirm Gears of War sequel

Mark Rein denies Gears of war sequel - Image 1During the recently concluded Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2007 in San Francisco, Epic Games designer Cliffy Bleszinski (Cliffy B.) confirmed yet again that a Gears of War sequel is coming soon. He even went on and discussed all the other features that didn’t make it to the original GoW that might be included in GoW 2.

However, Vice President Mark Rein made a comment at the official community site of Epic Games and denied what Cliffy B. allegedly stated. His statement was rather direct and short, and we quote, “The Gamespot article is wrong. Cliff didn’t confirm anything of the sort.”

To make this whole bit more interesting, Rein himself was quoted back in November that Gears of War will have sequels as long as players desire it. Well, from where we are standing, GoW is doing great – staying afloat at the Xbox Live Activity charts and not to mention it received the Best Game Award at GDC.

It’s clear that Epic Games is planning to make a Gears of War sequel. It’s just a question of when are they going to do it.
