Marvelous Entertainment cuts back on releases

Marvelous Entertainment hasn’t been doing so hot financially over the last few months, and that’s exactly why they’ll be cutting back on game development. Of the ten remaining projects they have for this fiscal year, four of those will be for the PSP.
Back in January, after posting losses in their quarterly financials, the publisher’s management opted to endure pay cuts instead of laying people off. Admirable, but that doesn’t quite change the fact that they still need to sell games in order to remain competitive. For the fiscal year, there will be four PSP titles, two for PS3, one for DS, two for Wii, and one for Xbox 360 – that one being the No More Heroes port.
Of that ten, two of those are delayed PSP titles, Ikki Tousen: Xross Impact and Fate/Extra, which means that there are two more unannounced PSP titles on the way. For the Nintendo DS, Marvelous has always come up with titles to support the platform, but for this year, Harvest Moon: Twins’ Village will be their only DS game.
For PS3, No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise will fall into that category, meaning that two Wii titles, two for PSP, and one for PS3 have remained unannounced.
