Marvelous releases 90-dollar educational game in Japan
There has been a lot of talk about the DS systems getting a lot of shovelware, but hopefully, Marvelous‘ stab into the edutainment market in Japan won’t be counted among them. It better not be – the publisher seems to think that it’s a marvelous idea to price it at Â¥ 7,980, which by the exchange rate, is equivalent to about US$ 90.

The game, Shin Noukyo Iku, apparently has a tie-up with Hama Gakuen, a reputable school in Japan, which may explain the rather heavy price tag. Problem is, it might not cut it since you can get better more DS titles and console games with that kind of money – with Collector’s Ed swag, even. Anyone can play it – kids, models, athletes – so let’s just hope it can actually teach you a thing or two.
