Mass Effect 2 seminar at GDC 09 for academic panel, not game details; PS3 port rumors denied

Mass Effect - Image 1Two of BioWare‘s developers are slated for an hour-long seminar called “The Iterative Level Design Process of BioWare’s Mass Effect 2” at the GDC 2009 (gee, whiz. Sounds like a thesis title, huh?). As the name mentioned the magic words “mass”, “effect”, and “2”, the automatic assumption was that they will be unveiling new details about the sequel to the massive Xbox 360 title in this seminar.

Wicked - Image 1Two of BioWare‘s developers are slated for an hour-long seminar called “The Iterative Level Design Process of BioWare’s Mass Effect 2” at the GDC 2009 (gee, whiz. Sounds like a thesis title, huh?). As the name mentioned the magic words “mass”, “effect”, and “2”, the automatic assumption was that they will be unveiling new details about the sequel to the massive Xbox 360 title in this seminar.

Unfortunately, that won’t be the case. A senior company representative has clarified that what will take place in that seminar is actually an academic panel, and will not necessarily be the forum to reveal new info about the much-awaited part two.

Said the rep, “BioWare has always stated that Mass Effect will be a trilogy. This GDC event is an academic panel, but there won’t be any concrete information provided on the Mass Effect franchise other than what has been outlined on the GDC website.”

Oh. Okay. They’ve also since debunked those rumors that there will be a PS3 port for the game franchise. Guess we’ll just have to look for information somewhere else, then.
