Matt Wilson talks The Agency, “Fun Now, No Waiting”
Combining spy elements in a MMORPG, The Agency is shaping up to be quite an intriguing title. GamersInfo sat down with design director Matt Wilson to squeeze out more info.
Aside from the two agencies we already uncovered, Wilson expounded on the “Fun Now, No Waiting” concept. According to him, this phrase means players can jump right into the action with no holds barred. Joining games online would take a very simple process as easy as picking up a gun then shoot.
Another cool feature is how operatives work 24/7. Either online or offline, orders you command will be done non-stop. Wilson gave the example of a scientist operative building a car – you don’t have to be playing the game waiting for your request to be finished. While you do your business, they’ll do theirs. When finished, you can even receive a report through e-mail or text message.
One important thing when it comes to MMORPGs is the female population. No, we’re not talking about guys playing girl characters here. Wilson addressed that their target audience involves girls, too. We don’t know yet how they’ll make a spies-and-soldiers game attractive to them, but they’re taking it in full consideration.
Wilson is pretty confident about the game, thankful for the current technology available to developers. “The technology has advanced far enough to where we can develop games that have that fast-action gameplay that single player games use to only have and deliver that in an online space.”
He doesn’t stop there. Looks like this guy really expects the game to be big, as they’re putting a lot of work into it. Taking a different road from other espionage games such as MGS and Splinter Cell, The Agency is aiming for a more casual experience. Let’s hope to hear more about this title.
