MCV Industry Excellence Awards 2006
The MCV, Market for Home Computer and Video Games, held its fourth annual 2006 Industry Excellence Awards to recognize the industry’s best-performing and hardest-working companies. The big winners were Nintendo and THQ picking up 4 and 2 awards respectively as well as Sony who got the most prestigious award, The Grand Prix. The Grand Prix Award is given to them for the commercial success, innovation, and business management shown through the last twelve months. This included the launch of the PSP, the sales of the PS2 which reached over 8 million units sold, along with formidable new IPs like Buzz! and God of War.
