Media Create Japanese hardware and software charts: PSP is king of the hardware hill, Resident Evil 5 scores big
The PlayStation Portable proved to be the king of the hardware hill for the week of March 2 to March 8 Japan, while combined sales of the DS Lite and DSi put the Nintendo handheld at second place. On the software side, both versions of Resident Evil 5 made it the top three.
The PlayStation Portable proved to be the king of the hardware hill for the week of March 2 to March 8 Japan. Combined sales of the DS Lite and DSi put the Nintendo handheld at second place. The PS3 also did good, outselling the Wii 2 to 1. The Xbox 360, meanwhile, was just six thousand units behind the Wii, no doubt due to the recent release of Resident Evil 5.

On the software side, both versions of Resident Evil 5 made it the top three. The PlayStation 3 version ended up at the top spot while the Xbox 360 version took third place. Sandwiched between the two was Seventh Dragon for the Nintendo DS. Shin Sangoku Musou: Multi Raid for PSP still hung around at the fourth spot while Yakuza 3 (Ryu ga Gotoku 3) took fifth.
