Media Create report from December 1 to 7, DSi and Wii on top
Here’s the latest Media Create report: Nintendo gets an encouraging start this December, with Wii and the DS dominating the hardware charts. After its strong performance the previous week, the PS3 sales drop quite a bit for December, as with the PSP. More figures and details inside.
It’s been another week, so here we are again with more gaming word hailing from Japan, courtesy of Media Create. The Wii is still on top of the other consoles (gee, what’s new?), selling 56,702 units compared to 49,848 units in the previous week. The DS got an even bigger boost, hitting 138,744 – 126,648 of which is care of the DSi, which sold 87,185 in the previous week.
Xbox 360 slips a little more, from 11,423, to 9,988. The PS3 also slips from its 34,978 previously, but now still holds a respectable 30,309. The PS2, for several weeks now, has remained steady, getting a very small boost this time, from 5,628 to 5,743.

It’s clear from these figures that Nintendo is still the big boss of Japanese gaming. It’s just the first week of December, and it’ll get more and more interesting as we approach Christmas, when sales really start to pick up.
