Metal Gear Online patch adds new game mode, hosting option
If you’re feeling a little burnt out playing the same maps against the same team in Metal Gear Online, Konami recently released a new patch for the game which throws in several new elements into the mix. The new patch will add a new game mode as well as an extra hosting option. Find out more about these new additions in our full article.
If you feel like you haven’t had enough sneaking time as Snake in the Sneaking Mission mode of Metal Gear Online, then you’ll be happy to know that Konami has inserted a whole new element of espionage into the online multiplayer title. The company recently released a new patch which adds a new game mode as well as an extra hosting option to make things more interesting.
Normally, Sneaking mode only allows one player to take the role of Snake as he tries to stealthily eliminate all other players. The new “Team Sneaking” mode now allows an entire team to be equipped with stealth camo as they try to to take out a specific target within the opposition’s territory.
In addition, the update adds a “Headshots Only” host option which changes the way each game awards ranking points. Any non-headshot kill you make is instead penalized towards your character’s running score. This makes the games even more challenging, so expect a lot of snipers lying in wait if you decide to play with this option enabled.
Hopefully, the next update will insert more elements like additional weapons or maps (I, for instance, wouldn’t mind sniping people with Fortune’s railgun). Who knows? Maybe the standalone version of MGO will already have these goodies included. Until then, we’ll just have to keep our eyes open for more news regarding it.
