According to the German gaming site Gamefront, Hideo Kojima might be thinking about MGS5 for Xbox360. He basically said that he was unhappy with the MGS2 XBox port, so if he were to make a Metal Gear on the XBox360, it would be a totally new Metal Gear game, not a port. He is tailoring MGS4 to the PS3 hardware as well, so a port would be difficult at best. This would be a huge coup for MS if Kojima created a Metal Gear game just for the 360.

“Hideo Kojima is no fan of Multi-platform development. Every hardware has its own advantages and disadvantages. He wants to use the advantage of each Hardware he works on and finetune the Game to it. He names as example Metal Gear Solid 2. It was specifically designed for the PS2, because the Console could do invisible Polygons. You could aswell combine these polygons and thus create such effects as Rain and Wind. The Xbox Port of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance was somewhat different and the Game is not as complete, since it was tailored for the PS2 Hardware. Kojima refers in this topic to Splinter Cell 2 saying it looks very good on the Xbox yet looks weirdly bad on the Playstation2. Such a port would not be right towards loyal Fans, and he doesn’t plan on doing that. Thats why he develops Metal Gear Solid 4 for the Playstation 3. He Wants to concentrate to create something specifically to the PS3 Hardware. It would be the same if he was to create Metal Gear Solid 5 for the Xbox 360: The Game would profit from the consoles hardware advantages and there would be no PS3 Port since it would not do the Title justice.”
