Metal Gear Solid for PSP
We’ve blogged about this before, but Hideo Kojima in his podcast recently finally announced that Metal Gear Solid is indeed coming to the PSP in 2007.
This version of the game will not be a spinoff like the Metal Gear Acid games but will be part of the main series. The story of this PSP title will take place after Metal Gear Solid 3 (during 1970) and will be about the Big Boss’ founding of Foxhound. According to this podcast, Kojima boasts that the graphical quality of this game will be on par with the PS2 titles.
Metal Gear Solid for the PSP will feature a different combat formula, wherein a player will control the fate of several troops. There isn’t a Continue feature in the game, so if the troops die, they’re gone for good. One also has the option to bet his troops before battle begins, although the consequences to choosing this action are unknown yet.
This game for the PSP is also said to feature multiplayer battles over Wi-Fi.
Expect Sony to have more details about this recently-disclosed PSP title at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). And hopefully, they’ll offer clarifications about the still shady parts of the podcasted information.
