Metroid Dread Not in the Works?

Nintendo recently had a press briefing on its plans for the Nintendo DS. Although everybody who attended is under a strict NDA to not reveal what they saw, they apparently weren’t told what they couldn’t talk about. Jeremy Parish of 1UP reveals that absolutely nothing was shown with regards to the rumoured 2D Metroid sequel, Metroid Dread. Of course, we can all just go into denial and say he’s trying to fake us out… but that would just lead to a bigger disappointment at E3. A 2D Metroid should hopefully come out sometime this console generation. Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and New Super Mario Bros. show that 2D gameplay still lives in two of its big three franchises. Now let’s see Ms. Aran strut her stuff in 2D as well!
