Metroid shines in sparse VC Japan this March

Virtual Console logo - Image 1Hungrier than ever for more Virtual Console Japan retro releases? So are we, but March may not exactly be the buffet that you’re craving for. The list is a bit on the lean side, but there are some tasty treats that are sure to please. Is this the calm before the WiiWare storm? Seems like it. The full article has all the details.

We’ve been keeping tabs on the Japanese Virtual Console and we weren’t too surprised to see that March’s list of retro releases is about as sparse as February’s. This is perhaps due to the fact that Nintendo Japan is launching Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and the WiiWare service in the region this month, hence the diversion in focus.

There’s no need for worry, of course. There are still a number of interesting games in the mix to keep Japanese Wii owners happy. How about the legendary Metroid for the Famicom? City Connection seems like a lot of fun to play again. For Japanese robot enthusiasts, Joy Mech Fight should be a treat.

In any case, here’s the full list of releases per emulated platform this March:
