MGS4 Screens from Leipzig

MGS4

The fourth most wanted game in Japan, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, has been showering the Leipzig Games Convention with its looming presence. So far, MGS4‘s gameplay and trailer has not yet been seen in the games convention, but filling in for their absences are these screens.

In case you have no idea what MGS4 is (duh!), it is the latest offering from the Metal Gear Solid series of stealth-based games. Set years after the events of MGS2 (the Manhattan incident), MGS4 lets you see a world where the restriction of military intervention on foreign soil has eased, leading to demands on mercenaries to fight proxy battles for business purposes, fueling the need for private military contractors (PMCs) and automated weapons.

The five largest PMCs are revealed to be owned by a single mother company, Outer Heaven, operated by Liquid Snake via the possessed Revolver Ocelot. Outer Heaven has amassed a military equivalent in power to the United States’ own, as well as the rest of the world. Solid Snake, now suffering the advanced aging effects of his cloned heritage, is deployed by the UN to infiltrate Outer Heaven’s headquarters in the Middle East.

We will let the screens do the talking now.
