News and info on Final Fantasy XIV up to this point have said that apart from the PC, the only gaming console that’ll get the MMO will be the PlayStation 3. As it turns out, the ship hasn’t sailed yet on that particular detail, and it appears Microsoft is taking steps to make sure that they don’t get left at the docks.

In an interview with RPGsite.net, FFXIV producer Hiromichi Tanaka revealed that while there are no current plans on developing an Xbox 360 version, Microsoft isn’t exactly out of the picture just yet. “Currently there are no plans for a version for the Xbox 360,” he said. “We are still talking with Microsoft about an Xbox 360 version, but at the moment we are only working on the PS3 version and Windows version.”

The good news is, despite the possibility of adding another version for the game, Final Fantasy XIV is still well on track to be released in 2010.
