Microsoft has issued a statement of apology for those whose Xbox 360s have been giving them the silent treatment after installing the Faulty New Xbox Experience. Microsoft is now working on a solution for the sound output problem.

Microsoft has issued a statement of apology for those whose Xbox 360s have been giving them the silent treatment after installing the Faulty New Xbox Experience. Microsoft is now working on a solution for the sound output problem. Says Microsoft:

While the vast majority of our users worldwide are enjoying the New Xbox Experience with no problems, we are aware that a handful of Xbox LIVE users are experiencing audio issues, and are diligently monitoring this issue and working towards a solution. We appreciate our members’ enthusiasm and patience, and apologize for any inconveniences.

In the meantime, users who are experiencing this can try this temporary fix found by other 360 gamers: remove the hard drive, boot the system, then insert the hard drive after the dashboard comes up. Bear in mind though, this does not work for everyone, and it has to be done every time you fire up your console.
