Microsoft appoints David Gosen as Europe's new Strategic Marketing VP - Image 1Microsoft is announcing that they’ve appointed David Gosen as their new Strategic Marketing VP for their Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB) in Europe.

Gosen, formerly the CEO for mobile games distributor I-Play , will now be coordinating MS’ communications strategy and all marketing for the region. He will also be  expected to have a hand in the region’s Xbox LIVE service.

Gosen is expected to report to Chris Lewis, Microsoft’s VP for IEB division for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Lewis had this to say regarding Gosen’s recent appointment:

With David leading strategic marketing, Phil Spencer leading MGS in Europe, and Richard Teversham as Business and Strategy Director, we are in a great position to leverage Xbox 360%u2019s European success to further widen the market for Xbox as a mass-market proposition.

Prior to working for I-Play and Microsoft, Gosen was also a managing director for Nintendo Europe. Gosen has also had experience at a senior management position in British Sky Broadcasting, which should indicate the level of veterancy he’s had in the industry. Drop by again in case we hear any news on how he’ll do as a part of the Microsoft family.
