Microsoft AU answers Sony back

X360SCE Australia and NZ Managing Director Michael Ephraim has been all around the news this past few weeks giving comments on regional coding and engaging in a statement battle with Microsoft. Giant gaming site IGN ran a series of interviews with Ephraim recently and it seems that the official hit somewhere below the belt, as Microsoft Australia couldn’t help but respond.

Above all, Microsoft mentioned that there is no truth about X360 sales going on a downward spiral. The MS representative then continued by saying  that breaking their next 100,000 units sold-mark wouldn’t be a problem. “Looking at our pipeline of first party games, the incredible third-party support from every major games publisher and amazing accessories, not to mention Xbox Live, we are confident that our sales momentum will continue,” said the official.

Furthermore, Ephraim in another interview said offering at “seven, eight hundred dollars is extremely steep” for Microsoft even with the accessories included. The MS representative answered this by saying that “with a rumoured Australian retail price of almost a thousand dollars for their next console this is almost laughable.”

Lastly, the representative couldn’t restrain himself from giving rebuttals as he throw a little stone of a comment to Sony‘s “definite” March launch in Europe: “Remember those words.”
