Microsoft board welcomes Netflix’s Hastings

Microsoft has recently expanded its board of directors to 10 members as it added Reed Hastings, who is best known for his work spearheading the Los Gatos-based Netflix corporation.

“Reed’s track record for delivering innovative and disruptive technologies to market is very impressive … With his rich consumer and technology background, he will be a tremendous addition to our board,” said Microsoft CEO Bill Gates.

Netflix is the hottest DVD-by-mail service in the web with over 6.3 million subscribers getting their dose of digital movies straight from this source. Hastings is working primarily as a member of the board’s finance committee.
