Microsoft denies plans of motion-sensing controllers for Xbox 360
We saw reports of Microsoft planning a motion-sensing controller for the Xbox 360 swimming around the internet for a while. Today’s update has just sent that piece from the rumor bin into a skidding stop as Microsoft has made a statement denying the entire thing. More details on this after the jump!
A few days back, we reported on an interesting rumor regarding Microsoft drafting Gyration to integrate motion-sensing to the Xbox 360. Well, as these things go, Microsoft has made a quick and curt reply to quash the said rumor.
Speaking with Next-Gen, a Microsoft representative gave a stock reply: “Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation. And I have nothing further to share.” There goes that piece of speculation about a possible Xbox 360 controller with waggle.
We’ll keep an eye out for more news on this, just in case. In the meantime, let’s look back at what Bill Gates said about motion-sensing in 2006, “There’s room for innovation here, but moving that controller around — it’s something that’s not mainstream for most games.”
