Microsoft donates 50 Xbox 360 consoles to Para Los Ninos
Microsoft held an event last Tuesday where they donated 50 Xbox 360 consoles to the Para Los Niños organization. Along with the consoles they also donated more than 200 educational games and entertainment programs in both English and Spanish.
Para Los Niños (“For the Children”) is a family service organization in Los Angeles. They have 24 community centers in the city, supporting more than 3,500 kids and young adults each week. Microsoft gave two consoles to each community center. Included are five games, a wireless controller, and a 256 MB memory unit.
Some of the games Microsoft donated were Viva Piñata and FIFA 08. They even used the games to hold tournaments. Microsoft is not stranger to charity; they once gave a sizable donation to the Get-Well Gamers Foundation 2 years ago (although back then they also gave PlayStation consoles).
