Microsoft gave word about Zephyr rumor
Zephyr, if you ask us, is a very good name. It sounds fun, powerful and it seems to be blessed with everything a gamer could ask for in a console. The only problem is that Microsoft isn’t confirming anything. The rumor mill moved once more as tech online site Engadget received reports regarding the matter. Before we continue, the photo on the right is what stirred the issue.
In case you weren’t here yesterday, Zephyr was reported to have a HDMI port to support ultra-high resolutions and 5.1/7.1 audio through just one cable. Not to say that the PS3 is getting the upper hand already but maybe it’s about time Microsoft plans its next strategy. Aside from HDMI, it was also speculated upon that Zephyr will come with 65nm processor and 120GB drive.
Furthermore, Microsoft was contacted and the only response they gave was: “We have seen all types of claimed leaked photos like this show up online and as a standard policy we don’t comment on speculative items.”
Wow, to be quite frank, that means nothing to us. They didn’t deny nor confirm the rumor. Are they thinking that this is total cr*p? Or are they somewhat rattled because their plans have been pre-maturely revealed? We hope to hear more about this when electronics show, CES, begins this January 8.
