Microsoft Hands Out Pogs For E3?

Brian over at Kotaku.com got a little treat from Microsoft in the form of a Pre-E3 invite. The invite was wrapped around a plastic cylinder that was filled with little cardboard coins. The coins had images of trendy guys and gals on one side and strange little images on the other. One of the coins said Hollywood May 9: the date and location of their show. A few others say Xbox 360 and one says Games for Windows.

What Brian calls coins looks like Pogs, which were a big trend in the early Nineties (I still have a Ziplock bag full of pogs and slammers somewhere in my closet). If anyone can bring back the Pogs trend it would be Microsoft – elsewise there’s going to be a lot of cardboard coins ending up in the trash this coming month…
