Microsoft: Japan to get the Xbox 360 Elite, too

Hoping to win the favor of the East, Microsoft Japan announced in an official press release that the Xbox 360 Elite will be coming to the Land of the Rising Sun. The question of when, however, still looms as there has been no official word yet.

Their “black beauty” version of Microsoft’s next-generation console may follow way after the U.S.’s April 29, 2007 release. Microsoft Australia and Europe also announced earlier that they will be receiving the souped up Xbox 360 Elite by winter and late summer of 2007, respectively.

Pricing still remains relatively the same, although extra services offered by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 are currently only available in the U.S. Prices seem to stand at US$ 479.99 for Japan, although with all accessories, including the optional Play & Charge kit and the Battery Pack will hike up the price to a little over US$ 600.00.

Prices will probably change anyway during the long haul toward the actual release date. Whether or not Japan will be ecstatic for a roomier, classier version of the Xbox 360, probably only Media-Create can tell.
