Microsoft: More Crackdown is possible
Crackdown was a surprising, if not a sleeper hit for the Xbox 360. Not only did it offer an awesome sandbox city to play in, but some awesome physics mechanics to go along with it as well. Plus, you get to throw cars. Now, no other than Shane Kim himself is saying that there might just be a sequel to the game in the near future. Check it out in the full article.
It’s been a long while since we last heard about Crackdown, Realtime Worlds‘ sleeper sandbox title for the Xbox 360 – and now, we get an update from Microsoft‘s own Shane Kim that there is a possibility of a sequel arriving in the near future. This is even with the developer having moved away from the title itself, despite Crackdown being critically-acclaimed.
So, what did ol’ Shane Kim say about a Crackdown sequel? Here it is, verbatim:
We still love Crackdown. We consider that a pretty successful title for us, high-quality, I think that customers would like to see more in that space. So that’s an option for us.
Definitely a good bit of news, and should get a lot of sandbox title fans jumping in joy. This begs the question, though – just how much can Microsoft improve over Crackdown‘s winning formula, besides better visuals? Here’s hoping for more freedom, more weapons and sandbox insanity (this writer can’t wait to be able to throw an entire building in the game). Updates as we get them.
