Microsoft: Newly manufactured, recently repaired Xbox 360s now “improved”
With all the flak Microsoft is receiving for Xbox 360 hardware failures, it seems difficult for anyone to appreciate what the gaming giant is doing behind the lines to ensure better consoles. According to Xbox Group Marketing Manager Aaron Greenberg, every 360 on shelves today is a tad better than earlier units.
Greenberg told Kotaku, “We have made all the improvements in our manufacturing process… All the consoles on the market have those improvements.”
Itching to grab a 360 yet? Current owners won’t be left behind, because Microsoft’s repair service apparently comes with sneaky but free tweaks.
As Greenberg puts it, consoles sent for repair return home with improvements intact. “It should be similar to buying a new console off the shelf,” he said. The question now is what exactly these improvements are. Anyone who noticed any changes in their machines after getting them fixed can feel free to testify via comments.
