Microsoft responds to black 360 rumors with “No Comment”
Given all the hootin’-tootin’ hoopla about the black Xbox 360 for the past few days, Microsoft has finally given their response. It might not be what everyone would have wanted to hear, but it’s a response nonetheless. The big MS gave this statement to EuroGamer:
We’re aware of the rumours circulating on the Internet regarding a new version of Xbox 360, but we have made no official announcements and do not comment on rumours or speculation.
We’ve heard a lot of responses in the past that sounds awfully familiar with this statement. It’s to be expected. Kind of like an involuntary reflex that these big corporations have to take. One example would be Capcom. A few weeks ago, when PSM said Devil May Cry 4 would make it to the 360, Capcom responded with a resounding “Capcom does not comment on rumors. Devil May Cry 4 is exclusive to PS3. No other announcements have been made.”
We all know what happened after that.
So, is Microsoft about to pull a Capcom on us? Does this mean the elusive “black magic woman” would really find its way to the market? If anything, the only facts we can glean from Microsoft’s statement right now is that they neither confirm nor deny anything about the black 360. That, and they know about the rumors spreading around.
If you’re one who is excited about the black 360, there’s still hope. They don’t deny the rumor. If you’re one to call foul, there’s reason to. They don’t confirm the rumor. The only thing we can do now is wait for further enchantment from the black magic woman.
