Microsoft resumes crackdown on modded Xbox 360s
With less than a week before Christmas, it appears that Microsoft‘s initiated another series of bans on modded Xbox 360s. Details are still sketchy, although owners state that the ban seems to be targetting 360s running in ixtreme firmware. More detail are available in the full article.
We have recently received word that Microsoft has been targetting several Xbox 360 owners last week with an Xbox Live ban. Details are still pretty bit scarce on this recent crackdown, though reports from 360 owners indicate that it may have something to do with iXtreme series of custom firmware created by commodore4eva.
Those who have been affected so far were running on iXtreme 1.4 and lower versions, as well as other firmwares. The ban also affects all of the Xbox 360’s drive models. Deja vu from last November, folks?
Reports also came in stating that some among those affected had only played a retail game recently; the number of reports for this category are considerably lower. That’s all the information we’ve got for now. Stick around in case related announcements are released soon.
