Microsoft: There are no plans to introduce Blu-ray to Xbox 360 - Image 1It was only yesterday when it was revealed that Sony U.S. Electronics President Stan Glasgow was discussing matters with Microsoft that would allow the latter to have a Blu-ray add-on for the Xbox 360.

While representatives from big MS and its video games division were quick to deny such talks, the rumor has already spread around the Internet like wild fire.

It is in light that a spokesperson found it necessary to reiterate their stance on the subject. “There are no plans to introduce Blu-ray,” said the Microsoft representative.

He then went on and added that their current plans right now is to provide quality games for users and not on the system’s movie playback capabilities. All of this talk began when Toshiba announced that it would drop support for the HD DVD format, an act that changed the tide of the format war in favor of the Blu-ray side.
