1 year warranty back for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Slim
Warranties are heaven-sent for those who have frequent mishaps with their gadgets. However, while it is given as a security measure for probable hardware failure, it also reflects just how confident the company is with their product. For Microsoft’s new Xbox 360 Slim, the warranty they tied to it runs for one full year.
Warranties are heaven-sent for those who have frequent mishaps with their gadgets. However, while it is given as a security measure for probable hardware failure, it also reflects just how confident the company is with their product. This limited console warranty is actually common practice. However, given the history of its predecessor, the Xbox 360, and its famous Red Rings of Death, it begs curiosity as to why Microsoft did not extend it for a bit longer. Are they expecting yet another deluge of brokend down hardwares?
They did say though that that problem will not mar the console as significantly as it did the previous one. Maybe that’s why they stayed with the one year warranty? Could this be a reflection of their confidence in the hardware, that there won’t be as much trouble with it, and so you won’t have to make use of your warranty all that much anyway?
Probably. But we’ll know for sure once the Xbox 360 hits retail store shelves.
