Microsoft Updates Backwards Compatibility List

Microsoft has added a few updates to the backwards compatibility list. Three more games will be supported along with updates for already supported tittles. Microsoft is hard at work adding support for the most requested games so if your favorites have not shown up yet it is just a matter of time. Microsoft suggests updating through your live account because as game support is added your system will be updated accordingly. Also remember support for original Xbox tittles require the optional harddrive.

New games on the list:

  • BLACK
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • World Soccer Winning Eleven 9

Updated games:

  • Darkwatch
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  • Half-Life 2
  • Fable
  • Fable: The Lost Chapters
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Ninja Gaiden
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • SSX 3
  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
  • kill.switch
  • World Series Baseball 2K3

In order to update your Xbox 360 console over Xbox Live, a broadband Ethernet connection to the Internet and an Xbox Live account are required. The Xbox Live account can be either a Gold or Silver membership.

The first step is to connect your Xbox 360 console to your broadband connection. See http://www.xbox.com/connect for details.

The second step is to create an Xbox Live membership or add Xbox Live to your offline profile, if you haven’t already. A profile can be created from the Dashboard by pressing the Xbox 360 button and selecting “Sign In” or by pressing the X button. The Dashboard will take you through the process of creating a profile, but you need to select “Join Xbox Live” to finish creating the profile.”
