Microsoft: What 512 MB card?

Now you see it, now you don't... - Image 1

Apparently, Microsoft‘s been taking lessons form the king of the night (Dracula, not the other guy). If you guys were trying to check out GameStop‘s 512 MB memory card and were greeted by that image above, don’t be surprised. Gamestop has removed the post, along with the previously announced March 1 release. In connection with the take-down, Next-gen gaming decided to inquire with Microsoft on the validity of the card, and got this reply:

“We have not made any announcements about a new MU(Memory Unit),” a Microsoft spokesperson told Next-Gen in an e-mail statement. “Keep in mind that retailers will sometimes list items based on the best available information that they have, which may later turn out to be incomplete or not 100 percent accurate.”

Despite the statement, we’re not about to junk this card as another hopeful rumor. Symphony of the Night for the XBLA was previously announced to break the 50mb limit that the card currently carries, meaning that either way, there may be a new card coming out to match the game’s specs. For now, it’s a matter of waiting for full details on this new card.
