Microsoft – Wii is not “head to head” competition
In a recent interview with a few top guys at Microsoft, Kikzio Games asked whether or not Microsoft viewed the Wii as “competition”. Of course, Shane Kim responded no due to a few reasons. The Xbox 360 is a multimedia power horse, allowing you to play in HD, and they do not share the same online vision. No one at this time really knows Nintendo’s online vision, but they have produced a very large user base on the NDS, so hopefully the Wii will be even greater. The Wii also does not have HD capabilities, something of which the PS3 and 360 will have. Microsoft just doesn’t think it would be “fair” to consider them competition. Personally, I think it’s just that they do not want to lose to Nintendo if they say they are competition.
