Microsoft: Xbox 360 Elite so hot, there’s no need for Ultimate
Microsoft reportedly denied any plans for a new Xbox 360 model, the reason being the Xbox 360 Elite’s high demand that keeps supply lagging behind. Supposedly, the hefty 120GB machine is so hot that there’s no reason to put something out to replace it as the superior SKU. More details on this at the full article.
Even with all the rumors flying around, it seems Microsoft can easily deny claims of the Xbox 360 Ultimate’s existence. Some find it difficult to get a hold of Xbox 360 Elite models, and according to the platform holder, it’s because demand is outstripping supply.
Engadget reports that when asked about Xbox 360 Elite shortages, Microsoft replied saying the model is hot in demand and there are no plans to add another SKU to the current line-up since this 120GB machine is already providing gamers the hardware they need.
Engadget did not specify who made the statement. Rumors detailing the Xbox 360 Ultimate’s content and an alleged insider who said MS is planning to release new SKUs yearly are hard to ignore, so we’re not counting out the possibility that the top brass have a few plans hidden up their sleeves.
