Microsoft: Xbox 360 is one million ahead of the PS3 in Europe

xbox - Image 1During last month’s GamesCom, Sony claimed that it had already sold 10 million units in PAL territories after Microsoft previously announced that it had sold over 9 million units of Xbox 360 in Europe. But now, Microsoft claims that the Xbox 360 still maintains a one million unit advantage over Sony’s PS3. Well here we go again…

But now, Microsoft claims that the Xbox 360 still maintains a one million unit advantage over Sony’s PS3.

According to Microsoft’s Xbox Euro boss Chris Lewis, the Xbox 360 still enjoys a healthy lead over the PS3 in Europe:

We’re confident we are actually around a million units ahead. We count installed base differently to them. We count the number of units in the hands of consumers. We are committed to continuing that momentum – not only in places like the UK, France and Germany. Continued growth in all parts of Europe is integral to winning [against PS3] overall.
