Microsoft: Xbox Live won’t crash again this Christmas
Following the Xbox Live’s not-so-merry Christmas downtime last year, Microsoft was quick to act in ensuring Xbox Live users that there’s nothing to worry about. But with the need to upgrade Xbox 360s to their New Xbox Experience, there’s definitely a big reason for Microsoft to pick up the slack.
With huge console sales this year, coupled with the launch of the New Xbox Experience, it seems that a repeat of last year’s crash seems imminent. Microsoft went on ahead and tried to put any possible consumer worries to rest.
Aaron Greenberg, group product manager for Xbox 360, is confident in the console’s strengh. “WeÂ’ve built a lot of infrastructure, a lot of behind the curtain no one sees,” he said. “This is something that Microsoft is good at.”
But of course, it never hurts to have a backup plan, just in case they see a repeat of last year’s fiasco. “We will have people standing by, more people on hand than we’ve ever had before,” he said. “Knock on wood we will hopefully not have any issues.”
There’s gonna be a lot of users this year, with thousands of new Xbox users and all. Microsoft seriously needs to upgrade their system so that history won’t repeat itself. We’ll know come Christmas time.
